Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) plays King Charles II in historical seafaring epic "The Admiral"

Renowned British actor Charles Dance will star in one of the biggest film projects in the film history of The Netherlands. Dance plays one of the most important leading roles as King Charles II.
As King of England, and the uncle of William III, this smart political strategist will do everything to strengthen the position of his England.
Charles Dance (1946, Redditch, Worcestershire, England) has an impressive filmography. With the general public, he is best known for his starring role as Tywin Lannister in the TV series Game of Thrones. The shoot with Charles Dance will take place on Tuesday, June 10th (Bergen op Zoom) and Wednesday, June 11th (Middelburg).
The filming of Michiel de Ruyter “The Admiral”, which started at the end of May, lasts until late July. The shooting locations are in the south of The Netherlands (Veere, Zierikzee, Middelburg), Amsterdam, The Hague, the island of Texel, the North Sea and the Markermeer in Lelystad.

The first shooting day of the biggest film production in Dutch history starts in May!

After almost six years of research about the naval hero Michiel de Ruyter, the first shooting day is finally in sight!
Director Roel Reiné, who normally lives and works in Hollywood, has set base in The Netherlands for the preparation of the many shooting days yet to come.
The greatest part of the shooting takes place in the beautiful historical villages of the province Zeeland, in southern Holland. Detail: Michiel de Ruyter lived here a big part of his life.
The cast will be revealed within a spectacular event on May, 9th. The entire Dutch press will invited to join this great castpresentation.
The Admiral will be one of the biggest movie productions ever made in The Netherlands with a budget of 8 million euro.

Producer Klaas de Jong and director Roel Reiné will revive naval hero Michiel de Ruyter in a heroic epic film.
The Dutch Reiné has lived and worked succesfully in the US since 2005 and now returns to make his first Dutch movie in ten years.
The screenplay is written by Roel Reiné, Klaas de Jong, Lars Boom and Michael Loumeau (USA).
The shooting will start in 2013 in the Netherlands and the UK.
